The dry leaves diffuse color to the boiling water in the cup. Sugar, milk, and lime, honey or ginger (depending on where you’re from), added, make that cup what we call tea. The spoon swirls the slowly darkening brew as ages undo and dynasties relive – the cup breathes a story centuries old.
At Kolony® Tea Estate, we produce both the CTC (granular) as well as Orthodox (leaf) varieties of black tea. CTC teas are further classified, according to the size of the grain, as Brokens, Fannings, Dust and Secondaries. The Orthodox comprises of Whole leaf, Brokens, Fannings and Dust.
